Kalari Cheese | Jammu – 3 Pieces

Kalari – a traditional cheese product is indigenous to Jammu. It is a very dense cheese that is usually sautéd in its own fat and is crispy like halloumi plus gooey like mozzerala.
How to cook kalari
1. Bring Kalhadi / Kalari to room temperature
2. Sprinkle some salt on the pan and place Kalhadi and rub it with salt as shown in video. Keep it on medium flame and cover it for 30 – 40 seconds.
3. Fry it on both sides and let it cook on its own fat.
4. Sprinkle some salt and chillis. Serve hot with mint chutney, red hot sauce / mirchi chutney. It tastes great with our Chutney – Amla, Ginger and Raisins or with Mahua Tamarind Chutney
