HISTORY OF JAPANESE MATCHA

Japanese matcha has its origins in the 12th century when Zen Buddhist monks brought the practice of grinding and drinking powdered green tea to Japan. Over time, it became deeply intertwined with Japanese tea ceremonies, particularly through the influence of the tea master Sen no Rikyū in the 16th century, who shaped the rituals around its preparation. Today, matcha is celebrated worldwide for its unique flavor, cultural significance, and health benefits.
