- A nutritious blend of unpolished rice , pulses (Arhar , Moong) and millets (Ragi , Little millet) – a wholesome one pot meal that is easy to cook.
- Ragi is known to be high in calcium and Little millet is rich in fiber. Combined with the goodness of rice and pulses , it makes for a meal that is suitable for all age groups.
How to cook:
- In a pressure cooker , add a tablespoon of ghee. Once hot , add cumin , ginger , garlic , bayleaf and chopped onions. Saute till golden brown.
- Add in chopped tomatoes and other seasonal vegetables like peas , carrots and capsicum.
- Now add 1 portion of the millet khichadi and 5 portions of water. Add salt , turmeric , chilli powder as per your taste.
- Close the lid and cook the millet khichadi for 15 – 20 mins ,on medium flame ( 4-5 whistles).
- Serve hot with papad and desi ghee.
